Guardin, thebreathingbackwards, and Brody demonstrate immense talent and create a fun environment in Rhode Island

Guardin

Guardin is an incredible artist. He creates consistently good music and constantly explores new styles which always work within his creative vision. He recently dropped Creature Pt. 1, an EP which contains six tracks. All six songs are of great quality and you should go listen to them immediately.

His style of performance is goofy and fun, bopping back and forth on stage while pulling off corny dance moves. His command of the stage while he does this is masterful, constantly getting the crowd going and having a good time. He effortlessly blends the tracks from his set together, going from the absolutely not serious Danny Phantom to the ukulele driven sad-boy anthem I Think You’re Really Cool. He obviously put thought into his set-list. Danny Phantom contains lines about remembering him when he blows up, and following it with the first song of his to reach the radio is a genius conscious choice.

Throughout the set, whenever he would take a break for water, Guardin would get the crowd to do a “Water Check.” While it may seem trivial, it was a very important thing to increase the show’s intimacy. When he interacted with his fans the room came alive, and with the little touches of kindness he threw in throughout the show, it became something magical.

I sadly had to leave the show early, but I did get a chance to meet Guardin. I walked into the venue, looked at the stage to my left, looked at the merch booth to my right, made eye contact with Guardin, and immediately received a hug. He was so nice and charismatic that I didn’t even remember I was meeting the man who possibly saved my life. He signed my tour shirt and took a photograph with me, which he did for every single fan who asked for one. He is humble, kind, generous, and so incredibly talented. Meeting him was an experience I’ll never forget, and I hope to do it again someday.

As I said, I had to leave early, but the final track I heard from his set-list was the one most important to me, Doormat. I was hoping desperately for him to play this song and I thank god he did. His performance was more than I could have ever expected, bringing a further level of intimacy and understanding to my favorite song. I’m almost in tears remembering it, but it was the best experience of my life. If you’re reading this Nick, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

thebreathingbackwards

thebreathingbackwards is a talent We’ve all been sleeping on. He puts out good music with a variety of styles on a regular basis and offers a great live experience. His performance was very personal, and while it was relatively short, every song on the set-list was an absolute bop. During what i am he brought on Guardin and dropped some nearly unparalleled bars. The only performance he offered to top that one was of his new single: anymore. It was a great set and he should get more recognition than he does.

I got a chance to meet the guy, and he was totally chill. I told him what a great job he did and we had a nice little conversation about his career. I hope I get a chance to see him again because he is incredibly talented, and whatever he does next is sure to be even better than what he’s done so far.

Brody

Brody didn’t have a solo performance, but he did come on stage for one of thebreathingbackwards‘ songs. That song is called Bad for You, and his vocal performance during the song cemented his immense talent. He is a producer, mixer, and writer who is behind some of the tightest tracks on the scene. He produced Tom From MySpace, all of thebreathingbackwardsblackheartemoji, and has worked with the likes of Shinigami. If you haven’t familiarized yourself with his work, then you’re sorely missing out because he will be looked back at as a prolific artist for years to come.

I also met Brody, and when I let him know how much of a baller he is, he seemed surprised. Give his stuff a listen and send the guy some love. He’s incredibly humble and I look forward to whatever his name pops up on next.
